What is an Integrated Management System? An integrated management system merges Environmental Management System (ISO 14000), Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System (OHSAS 18001), Quality Management System (ISO 9000) and/or the requirements of other management systems together into one management system.
The significant similarities and overlap between these systems facilitates integration. An integrated management system provides ease of requirement assimilation, delivers a consistent message, and unites redundant processes
What are Some Benefits to Implementing an Integrated Management System?
Improved resource allocation
Ease of managing legal and other requirements
Consolidation of processes
Simplified document maintenance
Reduced record keeping
Standardized processes
Improved management of report submissions

It does not itself state specific environmental performance criteria. This standard is applicable to any organisation that wishes to: implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system; assure itself of its conformance with its stated environmental policy; demonstrate such conformance to others; seek certification/registration of its environmental management system by an external organization; and make a self-determination and self-declaration of conformance with this international standard.
OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational health and safety management systems - Requirements OHSAS 18001:2007 Specifies requirement for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, to enable an organisation to control its OH&S risks and improve its performance.
